Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (such as spaghetti or linguine) uncooked
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese plus more for serving
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Shallow skillet or saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add the pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a shallow skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to foam, filling the kitchen with a warm, toasted aroma.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the butter and cook, stirring frequently, for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden, but not browned.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly as the scents of garlic and butter meld together.
  5. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts completely and creates a smooth, luscious sauce that coats the back of a spoon.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed for your preference.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently with a wooden spoon or spatula until the noodles are evenly coated and glistening with the creamy mixture.
  8. Cook for another minute, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to become velvety, coating every strand of pasta beautifully.
  9. Transfer the pasta to serving plates, sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired, and serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon or fresh herbs like parsley on top before serving.
