Ingredients

  • 1 package package Hawaiian rolls soft, slightly sweet buns
  • 1/2 pound honey-glazed ham thinly sliced, smoky ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese melty and rich
  • 4 slices pineapple fresh, sliced for caramelizing
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar for caramelizing
  • 2 tbsp mustard sweet and spicy

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Sharp knife
  • Basting brush
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping the top and bottom connected, then lay the bottom half in a baking dish.
  2. Layer slices of honey-glazed ham evenly over the bottom bun, then top with slices of Swiss cheese, spreading them out so every slider gets gooey cheese in every bite.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, caramelize the pineapple slices until edges are golden and slightly oozy, about 2-3 minutes per side, filling your kitchen with a sweet, smoky aroma.
  4. Arrange the caramelized pineapple slices on top of the cheese layer, distributing evenly for a tropical burst in every bite.
  5. Spread a thin layer of mustard on the inside of the top bun and place it over the pineapple and ham layers, pressing down gently to help everything meld together.
  6. Mix melted butter with brown sugar and brush generously over the tops of the buns, ensuring they’re coated with a shiny, caramelizing glaze.
  7. Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden and caramelized, filling your kitchen with irresistible smells.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the sliders rest for 5 minutes, allowing the cheese to set slightly and flavors to meld.
  9. Use a sharp knife to gently cut the sliders into individual servings, being careful not to squish the soft buns or spill melted cheese.
  10. Serve the sliders warm, with caramelized pineapple and gooey cheese in every bite, perfect for a tropical-inspired meal or festive gathering.
