  • 2 slices whole grain bread for toasting
  • 4 oz smoked turkey slices seasoned and sliced thin
  • 1/2 medium ripe avocado peeled, pitted, and sliced

  • 1 clove garlic garlic clove for rubbing the toast, optional

Method
 

  1. Toast the slices of bread until golden brown and crisp, then remove and set aside.
  2. Rub the toasted bread lightly with a peeled garlic clove for a hint of aroma, if desired.
  3. Lay the slices of smoked turkey evenly on one side of the toasted bread.
  4. Scoop the ripe avocado into a bowl and mash it with a fork until smooth but still creamy.
  5. Mix in a pinch of salt and black pepper into the mashed avocado to enhance flavor.
  6. Spoon the seasoned avocado evenly over the slices of turkey on the bread, spreading gently to cover.
